ESST 317 Final Representation

My engaged citizen pledge centered around becoming more involved in Treaty Education and learning more about my personal identity and how it is shaped by history and how it is currently shaping society. Many struggles came along with this pledge. Continuing to question what I had thought to be truth for the majority of my life isn’t an easy process. Questioning Canada’s history can be a very unpopular thing to do at times. As I continue this journey and practice being an engaged citizen, I find out more about myself, and I what being a Canadian really is. I would say looking through a different lens and seeing other perspectives is where I’ve grown the most and will bode me well heading as a father and heading into my teaching career.
